  Chennai, 28th July, 2023:  The Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium in Chennai has undergone a significant upgrade, including the installation of the Poligras Paris GT zero hockey turf, ahead of the start of the highly-anticipated Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M. K. Stalin, inaugurated the brand new turf today in a grand ceremony in the esteemed presence of the Hon'ble Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development Department of Tamil Nadu, Shri Udhayanidhi Stalin.  The Hero Asian Champions Trophy Chennai 2023 will also serve as a preparatory event for the all-important Hangzhou Asian Games. Music album Bharatha Putran released

Chennai: Noted film star Bharat Suresh Gopi released a music album on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Lyricist and director Shornur Ravi, singer Rajan Kavalam and many others had participated in the event.  The album, which also depicts some of the unforgettable moments of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji, is produced by Mini Rajan and Dr. V. Vijayakumar under the banner 'We One Musicals'. Written and directed by Shornur Ravi and composed by Thomas Palackan, the album has singers Rajan Kavalam, Usha Raj and others. The album is planned to be dedicated to Prime Minister Modiji on his birthday on 17th September.

Cultural team raises Climate Change awareness through pamphlets distribution

As per the instructions from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, the Air pollution in Thoothukudi, Chennai, Madurai, and Trichy is not up to par, and a cultural team creates awareness through the distribution of pamphlets among the public and students in a vehicle that was inaugurated by Sri.Deeepak Bilgi, Director of Environment. This message on wheels addresses the public in Chennai City at major locations with a team led by Mr. Thangaraj, Chennai District National Green Corps Coordinator, especially near markets, bus termini, railway stations, and beaches. The team insists on the public walking to the nearest places, using a carpooling system, using vehicles only when required, and switching over to electric vehicles through songs and dances. These programmes will be conducted in Trichy, Madurai, and Thoothukudi too. Earlier, Mrs. Sowmya, deputy director of DoE, addressed the gathering near Saidapet.

Vidyodaya Schools celebrates centennial sports day

Sports are an important part of Vidyodaya Schools holistic education. On July 14, the Vidyodaya Schools Centenary Year Annual Sports Meet was presided over by Mrs. Aarti Sankaran, renowned Cricketer and Faculty Member, National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru. The children of various Alayas and Junior Houses of Vidyodaya participated in the sports events. A beautiful, colorful pageant was performed by students of various classes. The March Past, Torch Ceremony, and various events, including Parents and Old Students events, were held. Prizes, shields, medals, and certificates were distributed by Mrs. Aarti. Students plan to create street theatre plays to combat trafficking

On June 30, 2023, an Orientation on Anti-Human Trafficking for College Students in Chennai ICWO/HSF India was held at Saveetha College of Nursing. Dr. G. Bhuvaneshwari, Associate Professor, and Prof. Ms. L. Paramala, Vice Principal, introduced AHTC Members. Mr. A.J. Hariharan, Secretary ICWO, highlighted the purpose of the orientation. Ms. A. Jayalakshmi, Assistant Commissioner of Labour (Enforcement), explained child labor and interacted with students. She presented a video on child labor and discussed its use in industries. Ms. Praveena Solomon, State Co-ordinator of ICWO-HSF Project, discussed her monthly rescue missions and the importance of translators for counseling and rescue. The program also included a street theatre performance on human trafficking, which was shared among all colleges. The students plan to create more street theatre plays to raise awareness about trafficking.

An Orientation on anti-human trafficking for college students in Chennai by ICWO/HSF India was held on June 28, 2023, at Thiruthangal Nadar College, Kaviarasu Kannadhasan Nagar,Selaivayal, Chennai. Dr. V. Devi, Principal, Thiruthangal Nadar College, in her welcome address, highlighted the meaning and importance of raising awareness about child abuse and human trafficking among the students.
