Orientation on Human Rights and Anti Human Trafficking in Chennai

An orientation on Human Rights and Anti Human Trafficking in Chennai was held on 24 th August 2023 at University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai. Dr.Vaneeta Aggarwal, NSS Co-ordinator, University of Madras welcomed the gathering. The chief guest for the function was Prof.Dr.S.Elumalai, Registrar, University of Madras. The purpose of the orientation was rendered by A.J.Hariharan, Secretary-ICWO. Dr.P.M.Nair, IPS (Retd), International Expert, Human Trafficking Matters gave an introduction and talk on Anti Human Trafficking a global issue. The programme was organised by NSS-National Service Scheme, UNOM, University of Madras and Indian Community Welfare Organisation-ICWO and supported by Hanns Seidel Foundation India-HSF.

Inauguration of a ICICI Bethany Dialysis Centre at Bethany Medical Centre Anaikatti, Coimbatore

TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation  is a registered non-profit charitable Organization started in June 1993 with the aim of helping under-privileged patients with kidney disease by giving Subsidized Dialysis and one time financial help for medication, investigation and transplantation and spread awareness about kidney disease. TANKER cares for those, the underprivileged, who suffer with kidney problems of any kind, reversible or terminal, regardless of caste, creed, sex or religion. TANKER runs 14 dialysis units, 11 in Chennai and one each in Madurai, Vellore and Tiruppur.  TANKER saw the need for a dialysis unit in Anaikatti, Coimbatore and gave guidance and support to Bethany Medical Centre to set up a unit with 3 machines for the underprivileged especially the tribal community there.The   ICICI Bethany Dialysis Centre, Anaikatti  is supported by the ICICI Foundation with guidance from TANKER Foundation. PRO KABADDI LEAGUE RETURNS TO 12-CITY CARAVAN FORMAT SEASON 10 SET TO BEGIN ON 2ND DECEMBER 2023

Mashal Sports, organisers of Pro Kabaddi League, announced that PKL will return to the 12-city caravan format for the tenth season of the tournament. Workshop for teachers to submit Action Research on student engagement

As per the instructions from State Council for Educational Research and Technology (SCERT), Govt of Tamilnadu Chennai District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) organised a one day workshop for the teachers to submit their Action Research conducted in their schools among students on unique titles like Education after COVID, Plastic in daily life, Easy way to learn Multiplication, Pronunciation of Sounds, Maths & Minds etc. Mr.Ravichandran, DEO who inaugurated the workshop in the presence of Mrs.Usharani, Principal, DIET spoke on implementation and dissemination of these easy practices among fellow teachers which will attract other students too to involve in better studies.Around 153 teachers from Primary and Upper primary schools participated and Dr.Mary Jancy Senior Lecturer who interacted with research presentations proposed the vote of thanks.

Lions Club of Golden Friends sponsored special meal for ICWO homeless elderly women in Vepery, Chennai. Lions Club of Golden Friends sponsored special noon meals for elderly homeless people in Chennai on 6th August 2023.The shelter were administrated by ICWO –Indian Community Welfare Organisation.     Lion Suresh ,President,   Lion Shankar, Secretary, Lion Shiva, Treasurer from Lions Club of Golden Friends along with Lion Murugan, Lion Ramesh, Lion Shanmugavel, Lion Suresh, Lion Prabhu & Lion Parusuraman were present on the occasion.   The Lions Club of Golden Friends has been supporting the homeless shelter for the past 10 years, particularly during festival occasions. ICWO Founder- Secretary, A,J,Hariharan expressed his senior thanks to the Lions Club of Golden Friends.

Youth Convention combats human trafficking
