Chennai 28 th  October, 2022: Apollo Speciality Hospitals OMR under the guidance of Dr. Karthikeyan, Interventional Neurologist , organised a special event to honour and celebrate stroke survivors. The event was preceded over by, Prof. Shakir Husain Interventional Neurologist & Stroke Specialist, Mr. Senthil, Comedian/Actor.  This one day event was organised to build awareness on stroke to create and to emphasise on  the need for early intervention for quality stroke care. Mass environment awareness rally and human chain

As part of creating awareness among public and school students and as per instructions from Dept of environment and member climate change, Govt of Tamilnadu, a mass awareness rally and human chain was conducted in Saidapet by involving 300 students of national green corps units from Govt model hr sec school, Jaigopal Garodia Govt school, YMCA sports hr sec school ,St Ebbas hr sec school and Rani lady Meyyamai school.   The rally was flagged off by Ms.Sowmya, Deputy Director, Dept of Environment in the presence of Mr.Saravanan, Ranger officer.  Earlier all participants took oath to minimize pollution and reuse the items wherever possible. Chennai edition of the global ‘Walk for Freedom’

The Chennai edition of the Walk was declared open by Chief Guest, Dr P.M. Nair, IPS Former Director General, National Disaster Response Force & Civil Defence, Govt. of India, international anti-trafficking expert and ‘father of the anti-human trafficking police units’. Speaking on the occasion, he said “Every human being has the right to be free; yet thousands among us are trapped in human trafficking. It’s the duty of every responsible citizen to take action, and help end this crime.”   At the start of the Walk for Freedom, participants in Chennai and across the nation took a pledge to do everything possible within their means to help end trafficking in their lifetimes. Australia’s resolute commitment to civil maritime security has been on display once again, with a visit to India by Commander Maritime Border Command/Commander Joint Agency Task Force (COMMBC/CJATF), Operation Sovereign Borders, Justin Jones, CSC, Rear Admiral, RAN.
