EXPANSION OF THE TIRUPPUR NORTH ROTARY CLUB, TIRUPPUR CORPORATION & TANKER DIALYSIS UNIT

TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation is a registered non-profit charitable organisation founded by Dr. Georgi Abraham and likeminded people in June 1993 with the aim of helping under-privileged people with kidney disease by giving subsidised and free dialysis and one time financial help for medication, investigation and transplantation and to spread awareness about kidney disease. The Tiruppur unit was opened with 10 dialysis machines in August 2020 and supported by the Tiruppur North Rotary Club, Tiruppur Corporation and other valuable donors. The unit was expanded from 10 to 20 dialysis machines as there is a growing number of patients needing dialysis. The inauguration of the unit expansion was held on 27th June, 2022 at 4 pm at the Tiruppur unit. The unit was inaugurated by Rtn. MD.K.   Apollo Education UK (AEUK) is launching the Apollo International Clinical Fellowship Programme (ICFP), 2022 as a part of its Global Workforce Development (GWD) initiative. Cloth bags to all students as an alternate to plastic carry bags

  Micro Small Medium enterprises (MSME) testing center , Guindy observes Swachata Paghwara every year by involving employees, public and students by providing cloth bags, repairing toilets and painting Eco  awareness paintings on compound walls of government buildings.    Accordingly an Awareness Program on ill effects of plastics was conducted in Angels Baby land  School, Tondaiarpet Chennai by involving National Green Corps (NGC) students.   Mr.G.Thangaraj, Chennai District NGC coordinator distributed the bags. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2022

World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is annually observed on 15 June. This year’s theme for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2022 is “Combatting Elder Abuse”. On account of Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15th, the hairdressing women from Oasis India NGO dressed up the elderly women in ICWO- Indian Community Welfare Organisation-I.C.W.O. run Shelter for the Homeless People, Choolai. Mrs.Sumathi, Ward Councilor graced the occasion. It gave the women, happiness and joy to walk the ramp beautifully dressed in sarees forgetting about their sorrows. The Hairdressing women also felt they contributed back to the society through this community engagement initiative. Oasis India, an NGO which works in anti-human trafficking runs a free hairdressing project for women in Vysarpadi. They collaborate with ICWO - Indian Community Welfare Organisation on anti-human trafficking initiatives. TANKER runs 11 dialysis units, 8 in Chennai and one each in Madurai, Vellore and Tiruppur. The Ambattur unit is supported by the Ambattur Rotary Club and other valuable donors.   Apollo Hospitals Chennai, the flagship hospital of the Apollo Hospitals Group on June 16, 2022 announced the successful completion of a procedure using the SENTINEL™ Cerebral Protection System, a new technology shown to help protect patients from the risk of stroke during a minimally invasive heart valve procedure. The technology was used for a transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) on a high risk 89-year-old male patient. Apollo Hospitals Chennai is the first healthcare institution in South India to use this protected TAVI /TAVR technology.   The procedure was carried out by Dr G Sengottuvelu, Senior Consultant & Interventional Cardiologist and his team. Tanker Foundation’s fundraiser for preventing kidney disease amongst Chennai city police personnel

Jayanth Murali IPS, Director General of Police, graciously consented to the request of the TANKER Foundation to run a full Marathon held on Sunday, 12th June 2022 at IIT Madras to enable the Foundation to raise funds for BP Machines for all Tamilnadu Police Stations so that Police Personnel can check their BP regularly and take corrective action to avoid kidney disease. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) organised a mass trees plantations in ONGC colony, Anna Nagar, Chennai by involving all 250 families as part of World Environment Day'2022 in the presence of Shri R.K.Dhasmana, Executive Director &Basin Manager, KG PG Basin and Shri R.K. Yadava, Executive Director & Basin Manager, Cauvery Basis.   250 numbers of native species were planted in the campus. A talk on world Environment Day theme and waste management was given by Mr.G. Hindustan College signs MoU with ICWO to provide immense benefits to the students

Balance disorders (including vertigo) affect around 35% of people over the age of 40 and 85% of people over the age of 80 for a variety of reasons. The Vertigo and Balance Clinic at Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Vanagaram collaborated with Annanagar Cycles to organise a cycle rally from the Lighthouse at Marina Beach to the Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Vanagaram, in order to raise much-needed awareness about this issue. Launch of Mum2b : Expert Support for Expecting Mothers by Apollo Women’s Hospitals

As much as the to-be-mother is excited to welcome a new life, she along with her family also has numerous questions on her mind and is almost always anxious about something or the other.   To deal with this issue, it’s proposed that Apollo Women’s Hospitals, Chennai has launched a Pregnancy Support Group, which connects the patient and the doctor in an informal and relaxed setting. The group meets on the fourth Saturday of every month and would be headed by a Consultant from Apollo Women’s Hospitals and is open to anyone who would be interested. The session starts with an expert talk by the consultant and would also discuss the dos and don’ts during various stages of pregnancy. Huge water pipe hindering pedestrian movement

The huge water supply pipes completely blocking the pedestrian footpath in front of Sapthagiri residential colony, 100 Feet Road, Thirumangalam are causing lots inconvenience to pedestrians.   The water pipes which has been lying for years are not only making the footpath unusable but also poses a obstacle to the pedestrians as they are forced to walk along the busy 100 Feet Road putting their lives at risk. Every day thousands of pedestrians walk past this spot. Clearing the water pipes from the pavement at the earliest will not only ensure pedestrians a safe footpath and will also make the area to look neat.
