Loyola Alumni Association— Chennai Chapter announces year-long program
Chennai, March, 2026 The Loyola College Alumni Association Chennai Chapter (LAA CC), the largest chapter of Loyola College's global alumni network, convened its Annual Chapter Meet 2026 with an impressive gathering of Loyolites spanning multiple generations. The event marked the formal unveiling of a comprehensive year-long programme calendar designed to strengthen alumni bonds, foster student mentorship, and drive meaningful community impact.
The occasion was graced by distinguished guests including Mr.
Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Minister for IT & Digital Services,
Government of Tamil Nadu; Mr. Sujith Kumar, Founder, Maatram
Foundation; and Mr. Mohan Raman, acclaimed actor, writer, and
film historian — each of whom shared reflections on education, mentorship, and
the power of community.
Year-Long Programme: Key Initiatives
At the heart of the evening was the launch of LAA CC’s annual
activity calendar — a structured, three-point programme spanning the full year
ahead:
1. Partnering with the Loyola Inclusive Innovation Impact
Centre (L3IC) — the college’s dedicated startup and incubation hub — to channel
the diverse expertise of alumni across industry and academia, amplifying the
centre’s impact and empowering student innovators to achieve their goals.
2. Facilitating internships and externships for Loyola
students.
3. Organizing job fairs exclusively for alumni.
“The Chennai Chapter continues to bring Loyolites together through meaningful programmes and shared experiences. The initiatives announced today will open more opportunities for alumni to connect with the college, interact with students, and participate in activities that benefit the wider community. We look forward to enthusiastic participation from members as these programmes unfold during the year.”
Mr. Karthik Sabanayagam, President, LAA CC & Founder and Managing Director, Sree Sumangala Group
“The Loyola alumni network has always played an important role in the life of the institution. Initiatives such as these help bring alumni closer to the college and create opportunities for collaboration with students and the community. It is encouraging to see Loyolites come together in large numbers and continue the spirit of fellowship that Loyola stands for.”
Rev. Dr. A. Louie Albert SJ, Director, Loyola
Alumni Association
With this year-long calendar in place, LAA CC reaffirms its
commitment to being a vibrant, purpose-driven chapter that connects generations
of Loyolites not just in celebration, but in collaboration and service. Alumni
and students alike are encouraged to actively participate in the initiatives
that unfold over the coming months.
