MakeMyTrip Launches AI-Powered ‘Collections’ for Personalized Hotels & Homestays Recommendations

MakeMyTrip, India's top online travel platform, has launched 'Collections', an AI-based feature aimed at simplifying the process of finding hotels and homestays. With over 86,000 domestic accommodations available in more than 2,000 cities, users often find it challenging to choose the right place to stay. 'Collections' addresses this issue by using Generative AI and traveler insights to organize lodging options into themed categories, making it easier for users to find accommodations that suit their preferences and needs.

The system analyzes past searches, booking habits, and customer reviews to provide personalized recommendations based on the unique charm of each destination and the traveler's interests. Examples of themes include Beach Paradise and Luxury Retreats in Goa, as well as Wellness and Adventure retreats in Coorg. The feature improves its suggestions by continuously learning from user interactions, adapting to individual preferences. For instance, luxury travelers receive recommendations for high-end hotels, while budget travelers see affordable options, and families are directed to kid-friendly accommodations.

According to Abhishek Logani, Chief Business Officer – Hotels at MakeMyTrip, 'Collections' aims to tackle the challenge of choosing the right stay and is already available in over 30 major destinations, with plans for expansion. Ankit Khanna, Chief Product Officer at MakeMyTrip, stressed that 'Collections' enhances the discovery process by utilizing advanced AI to provide meaningful recommendations effortlessly. MakeMyTrip remains dedicated to innovation, with recent offerings like 'Loved By Devotees' and flexible booking options.
