An environmental field trip to an integrated farm near Puduvoyal

Chennai District National Green Corps (NGC), in association with ARIVUKKAN magazine, organized an environmental field trip to an integrated farm near Puduvoyal as part of its Silver Jubilee celebrations. Mr. Thangaraj, Chennai District Coordinator, demonstrated the roles and responsibilities of individuals, especially students, to know the importance of agriculture, farmers, and farming practices.

100 students from Angels Babyland School, Tondaiarpet, were involved in removing the weeds, planting vegetables, harvesting ladies fingers, etc. from farms.

Mr. Ramesh, Associate Editor, ARIVUKKAN, and Mrs.Mohana Shruthi, Coordinator, guided the students to know solar energy, cattle fields, and the identification of trees and birds.
Most of the activities on the farm are new to city students, so they were to know and be involved in events. A traditional chemical-free snack, breakfast, and delicious lunch were also served. It's planned to conduct such farm visits every week.
