MIGAVENN 2K-23 was a Splash of Creative Talents

 

St.Joseph’s College (Arts & Science), Kovur, Chennai conducted Kavod Migaveen 2K- 23 in the college premises on Sat 11th March 2023. Students had actively participated in various on stage and off stage competitions organised by PG Department of Social Work along with IQAC, St.Joseph’s College (Arts & Science). The chief guest A.J.Hariharan, Founder-Secretary of Indian Community Welfare Organisation-ICWO appreciated the excellent performances of the students in creating social awareness and congratulated the prize winners who were presented with attractive cups and certificates.

CME on Kidney Health for All

The key takeaways for people at the CME programme held Sunday November 26, 2023, with the theme ‘Kidney Health for All’ were exercise and diet, awareness, screening and timely check-ups to prevent chronic kidney disease (CKD).   Participating as the Chief Guest, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, IAS, laid stress on the fact that kidney disease was increasing and there was a need for addressing the issue. He drew attention to the fact that the Tamil Nadu government scheme, ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’, (Taking Healthcare to People), checked 1 crore people for sugar and BP and the number of new cases was alarming. These are the two major reasons for kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension and so he advised eating the right kind of food, doing regular exercise and creating awareness and screening. A NEW HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINE FOR THE THIRUVERKADU RCMW TANKER DIALYSIS UNIT

TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation is a registered non-profit charitable Organization started in June 1993 with the aim of helping under-privileged patients with kidney disease by giving Subsidized Dialysis and one time financial help for medication, investigation and transplantation and spread awareness about kidney disease. TANKER cares for those, the underprivileged, who suffer with kidney problems of any kind, reversible or terminal, regardless of caste, creed, sex or religion. TANKER runs 14 dialysis units, 11 in Chennai and one each in Madurai, Vellore and Tiruppur. The Thiruverkadu dialysis unit is supported by the Rotary Club of Madras West, the CMCHIS and many valuable donors.   The New Machine has been donated by M/s.
