INAUGURATION OF A NEW HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINE

TANKER  (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation is a registered non-profit charitable Organization started in June 1993 with the aim of helping under-privileged patients with kidney disease by giving Subsidized Dialysis and one time financial help for medication, investigation and transplantation and spread awareness about kidney disease. 


 TANKER runs 14 dialysis units, 11 in Chennai and one each in Madurai, Vellore and Tiruppur. The Ambattur dialysis unit is supported by the Ambattur Rotary Club and Hospital, the CMCHIS and many valuable donors. 

 

The new dialysis machine has been donated by Mr. Shankar Narayan Swamy and Mrs. Asha Swamy. They also inaugurated the machine on 8th September 2023. Mr. Shankar Narayan Swamy said that he and his family have been supporting TANKER from inception in 1993 and were very appreciative of the progress over the years and the service they were doing for the needy with kidney failure. 

 

 Mrs Latha Kumaraswami, Managing Trustee of TANKER Foundation said that these were donors who have been with TANKER from day 1 and expressed TANKER's gratitude for Mr. Shankar Narayan Swamy and Mrs. Asha Swamy’s regular donations and generosity. She also thanked AIEMA and the Rotary Club of Ambattur and Hospital ,the CMCHIS  and other valuable donors for their regular support. She said that TANKER was appealing for space in Chennai to set up a Centre of Excellence for Kidney Disease. This was most important as kidney disease was increasing all over the world.TANKER has done almost 6 lakhs dialysis and is now helping 875 patients. Awareness programmes have been done for almost 2 Lakh people and Screening Camps for 40000 people for early detection of kidney disease.

 

The Machine was inaugurated at The Rekha Memorial Renny Abraham Ambattur Rotary TANKER Foundation Dialysis Unit. Ambattur Rotary Hospital, 1st Main Road, Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai – 600058.

Award ceremony to honour outstanding achievements

An award evening ceremony titled “PURASKARA SANDHYA 2023” organised by Indian Magic Academy was held in a grand magical manner on 3 rd September 2023 at Madras Kerala Samajam Hall, Chennai.   Film star Seema inaugurated the award ceremony. The chief guest, Hon. Minister of Tamil Nadu Shri. P. K. Shekar Babu along with actress Seema jointly distributed the Mantrika Shrestha Award, Mantrika Ratna Award, and the Overall Contribution Awards at the event. The event was presided over by Shri E.
