INAUGURATION OF A NEW HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINE


TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation is a registered non-profit charitable organisation started in June 1993 with the aim of helping under-privileged patients with kidney disease by giving subsidised and free dialysis and one time financial help for medication, investigation and transplantation and to spread awareness about kidney disease. TANKER cares for those, the underprivileged, who suffer kidney problems of any kind, reversible or terminal, regardless of caste, creed, sex or religion. TANKER runs 11 Dialysis Units along with the help of The Greater Chennai Corporation, many Rotary Clubs, Round Table Clubs ,Freemasons Lodge Accountants No.194 ,Lions Clubs, Arogya Trust, RVS Group and many valuable well-wishers.


The Machine was donated by World Malayalee Council- Chennai Province and inaugurated by Sri K. Sivakumar, Chairman, World Malayalee Council- Chennai Province at The Rekha Memorial Renny Abraham Ambattur Rotary TANKER Foundation Dialysis Center, Ambattur Rotary Hospital, 1st Main Road, Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai – 600058 on Monday 19th April 2021.Dr. Georgi Abraham, Founder Trustee of TANKER Foundation deeply appreciated the World Malayalee Council-Chennai Province for this generous donation and said that as kidney disease was increasing donations like this were very much needed. It was a continuous battle ,especially due to the pandemic.

Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami , Managing Trustee of TANKER Foundation gave an update of TANKER and said that so far TANKER has done more than 3.98 lakh free and subsidized dialysis through their 11 dialysis centres thanks to valuable support from the CMCHIS, Greater Chennai Corporation and various Rotary, Lions, Round Table Clubs, Freemasons and other valuable donors. TANKER has given donations of Rs.5.53 Crores for medications and investigation costs. TANKER has conducted 1279 Awareness programmes reaching out to 1.8 lakh people and over 35793 people have been screened for kidney disease. She also conveyed her grateful thanks to all the frontline workers and TANKER staff for being the Angels on Earth and continuously risking their lives to help the needy.

Sri K. Sivakumar, Chairman World Malayalee Council- Chennai Province said that it was a beginning and that the World Malayalee Council-Chennai Province would be raising funds to further help TANKER Foundation in their cause to help the needy with kidney disease.

Award ceremony to honour outstanding achievements

An award evening ceremony titled “PURASKARA SANDHYA 2023” organised by Indian Magic Academy was held in a grand magical manner on 3 rd September 2023 at Madras Kerala Samajam Hall, Chennai.   Film star Seema inaugurated the award ceremony. The chief guest, Hon. Minister of Tamil Nadu Shri. P. K.
