  The Order dated 20.12.2021 of the Supreme Court in the matter of Apollo Hospitals vs. State of TN &Armughaswamy Commission probing the circumstances of the death of the former CM of TN, fully vindicates the position taken earlier by Apollo Hospitals that a team of medical experts should have been constituted to aid the Commission in its process.   The Commission was constituted by the Government of TN in the year 2017 and from the inception of the Commission, the hospital and doctors have been co-operating in every manner possible to aid the Inquiry and offer all assistance to help the fact finding body complete its Inquiry. World’s first LAR procedure for Rectal cancerusing Medtronic Hugo™ Robotic-Assisted Surgery System performed at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai

The Apollo Hospitals Group   announced the successful completion of the world’s first LAR procedure for rectal cancer and the first GI (gastrointestinal)surgery in the Asia-Pacific region with the Medtronic Hugo ™ robotic-assisted surgery (RAS)system.This milestone in robotic GI surgery was achieved at Apollo Hospitals, Chennai on December 15 by Dr. Venkatesh Munikrishnan, Consultant Colorectal & Robotic Surgeon, Institute of Colorectal Surgery, Apollo Hospitals. The low anterior resection procedure, performed to remove the affected portion of the rectum, was successfully carried out using Hugo ™ RAS system on a 60-year-old male who was operated on for Rectal cancer. Apollo Hospitals, Chennai successfully uses Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson’s disease

  Apollo Hospitals, Chennai on 14 th December 2021, announced the successful use of advanced ‘Brain Sensing’ technology in Deep Brain Stimulation on patients with Parkinson’s disease. Deep brain stimulation (DBS), is a neurosurgical procedure that involves implanting electrodes deep inside the brain to improve symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. The use of advanced brain sensing technologies help in individualized monitoring for effect that maximizes therapeutic outcome. Vi successfully demonstrates Network Slicing over 5G Standalone mode, along with Nokia

Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) announced that it used Nokia’s 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) and 5G core to successfully demonstrate secure network slicing. The trial was conducted in Gandhinagar in the state of Gujarat in western India where Vi is conducting 5G trials on Govt. allocated 5G spectrum. Deployment of network slicing will enable Vi to quickly add new revenue streams while delivering innovative 5G use cases to the users and to enterprises. Two network slices were created as part of the demonstration. While the first slice was for general data traffic, a second slice was established for highspeed and extremely low latency. Without the second slice, virtual reality content achieved a lower resolution delivering an average user experience. The Asia Pacific Stroke Organization (APSO) and the Indian Stroke Association (ISA) have come together to host the XIth Asia Pacific Stroke Congress (APSC) this year. APSC is the flagship educational programme of APSO and targets stroke care professionals from different disciplines in the Asia Pacific region and beyond.
