Godrej Industries Group Hosts Malaysian Delegation to Explore Cooperation in Oil Palm Innovation and Business

Godrej Industries Group hosted a high-level Malaysian delegation led by YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Malaysia.

The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, the Consul General of Malaysia in Chennai, the Malaysian Palm Oil Council, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board and Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil.

Discussions covered areas of mutual interest across the Group’s businesses, particularly oil palm innovation and the household insecticides sector.

During discussions with Godrej Agrovet, both sides explored opportunities in oil palm upstream sector. They also exchanged views on the use of advanced research and scientific tools to develop high-performing oil palm varieties suited to India’s diverse agro-climatic conditions.

Closer cooperation in these areas could support the development of locally adapted planting materials, improve productivity and resilience, and contribute to India’s long-term edible oil security.

Discussions with Godrej Consumer Products Limited focused on the household insecticides sector and opportunities to strengthen the business environment supporting its growth. Both sides also exchanged views on facilitating trade and innovation while supporting the sustainable development of the sector.

YB Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad, Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Malaysia, said, “Malaysia and India share long-standing ties across sectors that contribute to economic growth and food security. Today’s discussions allowed us to explore opportunities for closer cooperation in research, innovation, trade and sustainability.”

Commenting on the meeting, Rakesh Swami, Group President and Head of Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group, said, “Partnerships and knowledge exchange are important in addressing agricultural and consumer needs in a rapidly evolving world.”

 “Our discussions with the Malaysian delegation highlighted opportunities to advance science-led innovation in oil palm and strengthen the ecosystem supporting the household insecticides sector. We value this engagement and look forward to further collaboration that delivers benefits to farmers, consumers and industries in both countries.”

 The engagement enabled both sides to identify potential areas for further technical and industry-level cooperation, particularly in oil palm research and innovation, as well as trade and industry development.

Anglo-Indian Community continues to be remembered and supported

On August 27, 2026, the Anglo-Indian Suburban Front and Anglos In The Wind convened a meeting for the Anglo-Indian community at the Don Bosco Shrine Hall in Ayanavaram, Chennai. The event featured Mr. Felix Gerald, the esteemed Chairman of the Tamil Nadu State Minorities Commission, as the main speaker.
