Axis Pension Fund crosses ₹20,000 crore in AUM, doubles assets in 15 months
Axis Pension Fund, the pension fund management
arm of Axis Asset Management Company Limited (Axis AMC) and a step-down
subsidiary of Axis Bank Limited, has crossed ₹20,000 crore in Assets Under Management (AUM), marking a significant milestone in its growth journey
and reinforcing its position among the fastest-growing players in India’s
non-government pension segment.
The milestone comes on the back of strong momentum in the
business, with Axis Pension Fund adding its latest ₹10,000 crore in AUM in just 15 months (from June 2025 to Aug 2026). The accelerated growth
reflects the increasing trust among subscribers and partners, expanding
distribution reach and growing adoption of NPS as a long-term retirement
planning solution.
The growth has been supported by a strong focus on
building a broad-based NPS franchise through Axis Bank’s distribution network.
The business has continued to expand its reach and strengthen engagement across
retail, affluent, corporate, government and institutional segments, while
strengthening execution across customer segments and product categories. This
diversified approach has enabled Axis Pension Fund to build a sustainable
presence across the pension ecosystem.
Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Sumit Shukla, Managing Director & CEO, Axis Pension Fund,
said, “Crossing ₹20,000 crore in AUM is an important milestone for
Axis Pension Fund and, more importantly, reflects the trust that our
subscribers and partners continue to place in us. The increase in AUM
demonstrates the momentum we are seeing in the business and the growing
acceptance of NPS as a retirement solution. As we scale further, our focus will
remain on making pension solutions simpler and more accessible, while
maintaining the highest standards of compliance, prudent investment management
and customer security.”
India’s pension industry is expanding in an accelerated
manner, supported by increasing awareness around retirement planning, deeper
customer penetration and greater accessibility of pension products. Axis
Pension Fund is focused on leveraging this opportunity along with technology
and customer-centric initiatives to expand NPS adoption.
One such initiative by Axis Pension Funds is the Tatkal onboarding journey, which
enables customers to open an NPS account in approximately 15–20 seconds, significantly reducing
the turnaround time and making the onboarding process faster and more seamless.
The pension fund house is also leveraging initiatives such as MSF (Multiple Scheme Framework), NPS Swasthya
and NPS Vatsalya to broaden pension coverage and cater to evolving
customer needs across segments.
“As we look
ahead, we see significant headroom for growth. Our priority is to combine
technology-led customer experiences with strong governance and investment
discipline. Ultimately, safeguarding customers’ retirement savings and building
long-term trust will remain central to our growth,” Mr. Shukla added.
Axis Pension Fund is among the fastest-growing players in
the non-government pension segment, with its accelerated AUM trajectory
underscoring the growing momentum behind its business. The company remains
focused on expanding access to NPS and helping more Indians build a financially
secure retirement through disciplined, long-term investing.
