There is a high incidence of kidney disease and failure,
especially among the underprivileged in McLeod Gunj and surrounding areas. Dr
Georgi met HH Dalai Lama and talked about the work that TANKER does in giving
free dialysis, raising awareness and conducting screening camps for early
detection and prevention. TANKER also supports research into kidney disease. He
said that TANKER would support in starting a dialysis centre to help in giving
free and subsidized dialysis. HH Dalai Lama gave his blessings to TANKER, all those
involved and all patients.
