Maruti Suzuki sets up Advanced Manufacturing Lab at Government ITI Hassangarh
Aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India mission, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (“Maruti Suzuki”) has set up an Advanced Manufacturing Lab (AML) at Government ITI, Hassangarh, Rohtak, to equip students with industry‑relevant skills and support the development of a future‑ready workforce. In the first year, around 200# students at Government ITI Hassangarh will be trained in the Smart Factory Lab.
The initiative, part of Maruti Suzuki’s CSR‑led
skill development programme, aims to bridge the gap between academic learning
and the rapidly evolving requirements of the automobile industry.
The AML replicates real‑world shop‑floor
environments and offers hands‑on training in critical areas of automobile
manufacturing, including assembly, welding, painting, machining, mechatronics,
and safety. This practical exposure is designed to enhance students’ technical
competence, industry readiness, and overall employability.
The inaugural event was attended by Mr. Sachin
Gupta, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Rohtak, along with senior officials from
Maruti Suzuki and the institute.
Speaking about Advanced Manufacturing Lab, Mr.
Rahul Bharti, Senior Executive Officer, Corporate Affairs, Maruti Suzuki India
Limited, said, “Through the Advanced Manufacturing Lab at Hassangarh, we are
bringing real shop-floor learning and modern machinery into classrooms. This
initiative, aligned with Skill India mission, equips students with confidence
to handle industry-specific processes and nurtures talent for the evolving
automotive ecosystem. It is part of our commitment to build a skilled,
future-ready workforce for India’s manufacturing sector.”
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Mr. Sachin
Gupta, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Rohtak, said, ‘The establishment of the
Advanced Manufacturing Lab at ITI Hassangarh marks a defining milestone in
Rohtak’s journey towards becoming a centre of excellence in skill development
and a significant contribution to the vision of Viksit Bharat. By introducing
industry-grade infrastructure, advanced manufacturing technologies, and
hands-on technical training, Maruti Suzuki has created an ecosystem that
seamlessly aligns academic learning with the dynamic requirements of modern
industry. This initiative will not only equip students and trainees with
future-ready skills and enhance employability, but will also nurture a culture
of innovation, productivity, and technical excellence. The lab will play a
pivotal role in developing a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting
India’s industrial transformation and strengthening the nation’s
competitiveness in the global manufacturing landscape.”
