Lava International Ltd. inaugurates Component Manufacturing Unit in the presence of Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, State of Uttar Pradesh
Lava
International Limited, India's leading mobile manufacturing brand, today
inaugurated its new Component and Charger Manufacturing Unit at its Noida plant,
marking a decisive step towards localization and quality monitoring. The
facility was inaugurated by Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, Honourable Minister of
Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh, in
the presence of Mr. Sunil Raina, Managing Director and Mr. Sanjeev Agarwal,
Executive Director & Chief Manufacturing Officer, Lava International
Limited.
Aligned with the
Government’s vision of Make in India, the facility coupled with application of
six sigma principles is Lava’s latest move to elevate Indian manufacturing
standards aimed at improving quality, efficiency and value.
Speaking at the inauguration, Shri Sunil Kumar Sharma, Honourable Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Uttar Pradesh, said, "UP government under the leadership of Shri Yogi Adityanath envisions Noida to be the mobile manufacturing hub of India. The developmental goals are aimed at building a state that fosters progress, employment opportunities and strict law and order. I congratulate Lava leadership and the workers on this milestone and assure people of industrial growth and prosperity in the region.”
Mr. Sunil Raina,
Managing Director, Lava International Limited,
said, "Lava Mobiles in its 17 years journey has always
prioritised building a homegrown technology brand rooted in India for global
audience. We have valued product quality, manufacturing capabilities, design
autonomy and most importantly a clean, clear product experience for the users.
The new manufacturing unit is in line with Lava's vision to pivot innovation
from India for the world. We have been pioneers of the Make-in-India initiative
and with government's support we aim to bolster our manufacturing and RND
capabilities by 2030. I am grateful to Shri Sunil Kumar Sharmaji for his
unwavering support in this endeavour and for enabling the state of Uttar
Pradesh to be at the forefront of India's technological revolution.”
Mr. Sanjeev Agarwal,
Executive Director & Chief Manufacturing Officer, Lava International
Limited, said, "India's electronics story is
incomplete if analysed only through export numbers and production volumes. It
must cater to the needs and demands of the Indian users, create job
opportunities and prospects for engineers to innovate and develop products for
their country people.
Lava plant currently
employs 3000+ workers with a production
capacity of 20 million units and is now expanding into component manufacturing
with an annual capacity of 9 million units. Through
in-house training modules, structured NAPS apprenticeships, and a B.Voc
programme — with university fees fully absorbed by Lava — employees are
equipped not just with technical skills but with a defined pathway from the
shop floor into engineering and supervisory roles.
This
milestone marks a defining step in Lava's journey— accelerating domestic value
addition, reducing dependance on global component ecosystem and in creating employment
opportunities. Lava is a global leader in feature phone business; it is
actively growing its smartphone market share and has also expanded into TWS
manufacturing.
