Swiggy Spotlights Student Entrepreneurs from Chennai Institute of Technology amongst "Women Leaders of Tomorrow"
Swiggy, India’s leading on-demand convenience platform, recognized Indhuja B and Blessy Jeba, students from Chennai Institute of Technology amongst "Women Leaders of Tomorrow”. They join the list of 13 young women achievers across the country, recognized for the impact of their work and how they are solving real-world problems—from building AI models for lunar navigation and affordable healthcare to creating sustainable livelihoods for rural artisans.
Indhuja
B, a student at Chennai Institute of Technology, led her team to victory at the
Smart India Hackathon 2025 with the development of “Grasp Ease,” an indigenous,
low-cost active wrist–hand orthosis designed to restore grasp function for
patients with stroke, spinal cord injuries, and neuromuscular disorders. Driven
by empathy and a deep understanding of rehabilitation challenges, she
spearheaded the design and development of a solution that enables users to
perform everyday tasks independently. The device integrates an ESP32
microcontroller and offers multiple control mechanisms, including joystick,
mobile app, and voice commands, making it easy to use for patients with severe
mobility limitations. Her innovation not only addresses physical challenges,
but also restores confidence, dignity, and independence.
Blessy
Jeba Pushpam B, also from Chennai Institute of Technology, is the founder of
NOACH Tech Solutions, a sustainability-focused startup developing affordable
wastewater treatment systems using Advanced Oxidation Process (AOP) technology.
A recipient of a ₹3 lakh Innovation Voucher Grant, she has been recognized for
her work in environmental innovation and entrepreneurship. She was the only
student startup winner among 5,000 women-led startups at the All India Women
Start-a-thon (AIWS). Beyond this, she has contributed to the ULOG3 CubeSat
project in collaboration with ISRO and has led multiple innovations in
robotics, automation, and communication systems, including a Smart India
Hackathon-winning solution for the Border Security Force. Her work reflects a
strong commitment to combining engineering excellence with real-world
environmental and societal impact.
Swiggy launched the “Women Leaders of
Tomorrow” campaign on the sidelines of International Women’s Day in March 2026,
and received over 800 applications nationwide. The selected women trailblazers
and their journeys were featured on the Swiggy app.
