Pensioners' day celebrated in a meaningful way at Palavanthangal

On 17/12/25, Chennai Traffic District of All India BSNL Pensioners' Welfare Association celebrated the Pensioners' day in a meaningful manner. Our District Association has contributed ₹10000/ to the Little Drops home and ₹10000/ to the Karapakkam All The Children Trust.  The "Little Drops" home near Porur where nearly 450 destitutes are taken care of by the Trust. In the morning a group of members went to the Little drops home personally and greeted the inmates. Really it was a touching experience to meet the helpless aged people. As we are part of SCOVA, we participate in such social activities and our members are very much supportive and encouraging.

In the evening we conducted a special meeting at our Palavanthangal office premises under the presidentship of Com.S.Sampathkumar and in the presence of Com.V.Ramarao TN Circle Advisor with more than 80 members participating. The Chief guest Com.M.Duraipandian working President of Confederation of CG Employees, GS CG Pensioners' Association TN gave an elaborate excellent speech detailing the Validation Act 2025 introduced by the Union Govt. The negative impacts of the act were explained from tooth to nail in a very popular manner which was liked by all. He emphasized on the fight by one and all and our fight should continue till we scrap this Act. Com.K.Ravi gave vote of thanks and the meeting ended with the delicious supply of sweet karam coffee.

Rotary Coimbatore Ikons, in partnership with Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation and The TANKER Foundation, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on February 18 to establish a dialysis center in Coimbatore. This center will offer free and subsidized dialysis to those in financial need. The signing event was attended by several officials and members from the Rotary Coimbatore Ikons and sister clubs. The TANKER Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in June 1993, focused on providing subsidized dialysis and financial aid for kidney disease-related expenses to underprivileged patients. They also conduct awareness programs and screening camps for early kidney disease detection. Over 31 years, TANKER has delivered 743,805 dialysis sessions to 2,981 patients and provided Rs. 4. 40 Crores in financial support for 5,257 patients’ treatment costs.

INAUGURATION OF A NEW HAEMODIALYSIS MACHINE FOR THE REKHA MEMORIAL RENNY ABRAHAM AMBATTUR ROTARY TANKER DIALYSIS UNIT

  17 th  February 2024    TANKER Foundation runs 14 dialysis units, 11 in Chennai and one each in Madurai, Vellore and Tiruppur.  The Ambattur dialysis unit is supported by the Ambattur Rotary Club and Hospital, the CMCHIS and many valuable donors.    M/s. Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company Ltd have donated 1 dialysis machine and 3 defibrillators. The machine was inaugurated by   Mr. Clement Williams, Senior Vice President- FIG   and  Mr. Pawan Soni ,Chief Manager - CSR   . Mr Williams said that he had first hand experience with kidney disease and was very appreciative of the TANKER Team work. 31st TANKER Annual Charity and Awards Nite 2024

TANKER Foundation celebrated its 31st Annual Charity and Awards Nite on Thursday, 25th January 2024 at Hotel Savera, RK Salai, Chennai. The event was a live streaming programme. The programme began with The Mr. Venkatesan & Mrs. Malathi Venkatesan TANKER Foundation Memorial Lecture which was delivered by Ms. Shanthi Rajmohan, a brave warrior and a person who is on CAPD for a long term (20+ years). Ms. Shanthi Rajmohan shared her experiences and several heart-warming stories about her life   and her uphill struggle with her health. She has been on CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) for over 20 years. Dr. Georgi Abraham, Founder Trustee, TANKER Foundation welcomed the gathering and said that the incidence of kidney disease was on the increase and that more awareness had to be created about this terrible disease.
