Godrej Enterprises Group launches forklift training center in Pune to drive youth skilling and workplace safety
As India’s manufacturing, logistics, and warehousing sectors scale rapidly, RenTRUST, a rental arm of Material Handling Equipment business of Godrej Enterprises Group (GEG), inaugurated a Forklift Training Center in Bhosari, Pune. Spanning 2,000 sq. ft., the facility is designed to build a future-ready workforce by equipping youth with industry-relevant skills, strengthening workplace safety, and enabling inclusive employment. As an industry leader, this initiative reinforces GEG’s commitment to nation-building by creating future-ready skills, enabling inclusive employment, and powering India’s industrial growth.
Reinforcing GEG’s focus on diversity and inclusion, the program offers a 50% training fee concession for women candidates, expanding access to skilled roles across the industrial workforce. To date, the Material Handling Equipment business has trained and certified over 3,500 operators, improving employability and driving higher safety and productivity standards at customer sites. Building on this momentum, the business aims to upskill an additional 500 operators by FY26, further supporting long-term employment creation as India’s manufacturing and warehousing footprint expands.
Anil Lingayat, Business Head, Material Handling Equipment business, Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “India’s manufacturing and logistics sectors are scaling at an unprecedented pace, but sustained growth depends on skilled, safety-trained manpower. Through the Forklift Training Center in Pune, we are creating a structured pipeline of certified operators who are job-ready and deeply aware of safety and compliance. At GEG, we see skill development as a critical enabler of productivity, workplace safety, and inclusive growth, and this initiative strengthens India’s industrial ecosystem.”
As India advances its manufacturing, infrastructure, and supply chain ambitions, the availability of trained operators is central to driving productivity and safety across shop floors and warehouses. The Pune center is a strategic initiative by RenTRUST, which operates India’s largest rental fleet of material handling equipment, to meet the growing demand for certified forklift operators across factories, warehouses, and logistics hubs. By integrating structured classroom learning, safety-first practices, and hands-on certification, the program enhances employability while aligning skills with industry requirements. The facility can train and certify over 45 candidates every month, directly supporting key industrial clusters in and around Pune.
