Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5-door, India’s top 4x4 SUV for global markets, crosses cumulative exports of 1 lakh units

Maruti Suzuki India Limited announced that the Jimny 5-door has achieved a landmark milestone, surpassing a cumulative export figure of 1 lakh units from India. The export journey for the Jimny 5-door began in 2023, shortly after its India debut. The SUV, manufactured exclusively in India, has won hearts across more than 100 countries, including Japan, Mexico and Australia. 

Jimny 5-door’s entry in Japan in January 2025, under the name “Jimny Nomade”, sparked off an overwhelming response with orders crossing the 50,000 mark within days of introduction. This reflects Jimny’s strong resonance in one of the world’s most evolved and quality conscious automobile markets. 

At its core, the Jimny 5-door is built for performance, combining a ladder-frame chassis with Suzuki’s proven ALLGRIP PRO (4WD), offering superior off-road dynamics and stability. Powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine, it embodies a balance of durability, simplicity and dependable performance, traits that appeal to both rugged terrain drivers and global customers attuned to quality and functionality.

31st TANKER Annual Charity and Awards Nite 2024

TANKER Foundation celebrated its 31st Annual Charity and Awards Nite on Thursday, 25th January 2024 at Hotel Savera, RK Salai, Chennai. The event was a live streaming programme. The programme began with The Mr. Venkatesan & Mrs. Malathi Venkatesan TANKER Foundation Memorial Lecture which was delivered by Ms. Shanthi Rajmohan, a brave warrior and a person who is on CAPD for a long term (20+ years). Ms. Shanthi Rajmohan shared her experiences and several heart-warming stories about her life   and her uphill struggle with her health. She has been on CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis) for over 20 years. CME on Kidney Health for All

The key takeaways for people at the CME programme held Sunday November 26, 2023, with the theme ‘Kidney Health for All’ were exercise and diet, awareness, screening and timely check-ups to prevent chronic kidney disease (CKD).   Participating as the Chief Guest, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, IAS, laid stress on the fact that kidney disease was increasing and there was a need for addressing the issue.
