Deloitte India announces the fourth edition of the Best Managed Companies awards and reveals the jury panel
Deloitte India has announced the fourth edition of its prestigious Best Managed Companies (BMC) awards to honour privately-owned Indian companies. Through the BMC awards, Deloitte seeks to recognise companies that demonstrate exemplary leadership, strategic clarity, operational excellence and a commitment to sustainable growth. With a legacy spanning three decades, the BMC programme is a globally recognised framework that has benefitted over 1,300 private firms across 45+ countries.
Every year, BMC attracts
an array of entrepreneurial companies from around the world, each vying for this
prestigious distinction. The awards employ a rigorous and independent
evaluation framework that assesses companies based on four key pillars: strategy, capabilities and
innovation, culture and commitment, and governance and financials. Participants
also gain from Deloitte’s expert guidance during the Best Managed Applicant Lab, where they explore what it means to be
a “best managed” company, drawing on nearly three decades of global insights
and best practices to refine their pursuit of excellence.
A distinguished
and diverse jury panel will evaluate participants of the 2025 BMC awards from 22–24
September. This year’s jury comprises Harish
Bijoor, Brand and Business Strategy Expert and Founder, Harish Bijoor Consults
Inc., who is returning
for his fourth year as a juror; Kalpana
Morparia, Former Chairperson of JPMorgan, South and Southeast Asia, returning
for her second year. The other jury members are N Ganapathy Subramaniam, Chairman, Tata Communications and Upendra Kumar Sinha, Former Chairperson,
SEBI and retired IAS officer. Their extensive expertise and diverse
perspectives will be instrumental in identifying the companies that exemplify
excellence in business management and leadership in India.
“With the 2025 BMC awards underway, we are eager to engage with
businesses that adapt to change and lead it with vision and confidence. This
year, we expect to discover exceptional examples of strategic agility,
operational excellence and collaborative cultures that drive financial
performance and broader impact. This powerful combination of leadership and
expertise positions these companies as trailblazers in India’s dynamic private
sector. We thank our esteemed jury for bringing their insights and dedication
to this process. We look forward to accompanying the participating companies on
this exciting journey, as they shape the future of Indian business and
contribute to the nation’s growth and prosperity,” said K. R. Sekar, Partner and Leader – Deloitte
Private, Deloitte India.
“As we unveil the fourth edition of the BMC awards, we are inspired by
the unwavering determination and spirit of Indian private businesses. This
programme is not merely an accolade but a journey of growth, innovation and
purpose-driven leadership. We are witnessing companies reimagine their
strategies, invest in their people and build enduring and thriving cultures. We
look forward to witnessing how this year’s participants continue to redefine
excellence, create long-lasting legacies and contribute to the vibrant economic
landscape of India,” said Dhiraj Bhandary, Partner, Deloitte India.
The awards process
will meticulously assess companies based on established key criteria. Eligible companies
must be headquartered in India and privately owned. They may be listed or
unlisted, provided the Indian promoter shareholding exceeds 26 percent. Businesses
that have been operational for at least three years and achieved a minimum
annual revenue of INR1,000 crore in the most recent fiscal year are eligible to
apply. These prerequisites ensure that participating companies are
well-positioned to showcase their strategic vision, operational excellence and
potential for sustainable growth. The winners will be announced on 15 October 2025.
