Galaxy Health Insurance partners with Round Table India to increase insurance penetration
Galaxy Health Insurance, India’s youngest standalone health insurer backed by the TVS Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Round Table India (RTI) to deepen health insurance reach in the country. RTI, a leading non-profit organisation with a presence across 135 cities, is known for its long-standing commitment to sustainable community development and service-led initiatives.
This
collaboration marks a significant milestone in Galaxy’s expansion journey,
reinforcing its mission to bridge India’s healthcare gap. With penetration
still low and nearly 400 million citizens
either uninsured or underinsured, the partnership aims to address an urgent
national need.
The alliance will focus on building
insurance awareness and accessibility across India. While government schemes
cater largely to those below the poverty line and private products serve
wealthier segments, a vast middle section remains without adequate protection.
For Galaxy Health Insurance, this
initiative represents an important step into untapped rural and semi-urban
markets, enabling it to extend beyond metropolitan strongholds, broaden its
customer base, and strengthen its distribution network across multiple states.
Mr. G. Srinivasan, MD & CEO,
Galaxy Health Insurance, said “Our collaboration with Round Table India
reflects Galaxy’s commitment to making quality healthcare accessible to every
section of society. By combining our expertise in innovative health solutions
with RTI’s strong community presence, we aim to address the protection gap in
India and contribute meaningfully towards the vision of ‘Insurance for All’ by
2047.”
Tr. Rachit Bansal, National President
of Round Table India, added, “Round Table India’s mission has always been
nation-building through service. With Galaxy Health Insurance, we are adding a
new dimension - health security for our members and their families, while also
enabling India to access affordable policies.”
Jointly promoted by Shri Venu
Srinivasan of the TVS family and family of Shri V. Jagannathan, Galaxy Health
Insurance secured its IRDAI licence in March 2024. In just nine months of
starting its operations, it has expanded to eight states, launched 10 products,
and insured over 100000+ lives.
