Empowering Women in Manufacturing: Godrej Ki Shakti Celebrates Female Achievements
Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GCPL), a leading emerging markets FMCG company, celebrated the contributions of women across its South region manufacturing units—Pondicherry, Karaikal, and Chengalpattu —as part of its flagship initiative Godrej Ki Shakti. This South India regional chapter reaffirms GCPL’s ongoing commitment to gender inclusion and equitable representation in traditionally male-dominated fields like manufacturing.
Women currently make up significant part of GCPL’s workforce,
a direct outcome of the company’s sustained efforts to foster gender equity. Godrej
Ki Shakti is more than a celebration—it is a platform for amplifying
women’s voices, recognizing their achievements, and fostering dialogue and
allyship for a more inclusive future.
The event featured a classical dance performance
and a skit titled “Accelerate Action,” performed by women employees, capturing
the spirit of progress and unity. A keynote address by Ms. T. R. Gayathiri, a
noted voice from the social impact sector, offered powerful insights on
“Breaking Barriers & Building Inclusive Workplaces.” The celebration
concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing employee
participation and contribution.
Sandhya Ramesh,
General Manager - Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Godrej Consumer Products
Limited (GCPL), said, “At GCPL, we are deeply
committed to building inclusive and equitable workplaces that empower women to
lead, thrive, and shape the future of manufacturing. Through initiatives like
Godrej Ki Shakti, we are creating safe spaces, encouraging everyday leadership,
and celebrating the collective strength of women and allies across our
factories. We remain focused on breaking barriers and building greater
opportunities for women in manufacturing roles.”
The South zone celebration is
part of a series of events being held across GCPL’s plants nationwide,
reinforcing the company’s vision of fostering inclusive, equitable, and
future-ready workplaces.
