Thales to recruit 8,000 people in 2025 and accelerate its 'Learning company' programme
Thales, a leading company in Defence, Aerospace, and Cyber & Digital technologies, plans to hire 8,000 people worldwide in 2025 to support growth in its business areas. About 40% of these positions will be in engineering fields such as software, systems engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data. Around 25% will be for industrial roles like technicians, operators, and industrial engineers. Additionally, over 4,000 employees will experience functional and geographical internal mobility.
With ongoing geopolitical challenges, a resurgence in air travel, and increased global connectivity, all of Thales's businesses are expanding and recruiting. This momentum follows the hiring of over 30,000 new employees from 2022 to 2024, with 9,000 in the Defence sector, and more than 8,000 internal mobility moves between 2023 and 2024. For ten years, Thales has consistently hired at least 5,000 people each year.
In 2025, recruitment will occur in all operational regions, including around 3,000 in France, over 1,000 in the UK, 500 in the Netherlands, 400 in the US, 400 in Australia, 300 in Central Europe, 250 in India, 200 in Germany, and 150 in Africa and the Middle East.
Thales has committed to enhancing employee professional development through a "Learning Company" program, which has included investment in 2,000 internal trainers and various mentors. The number of Academies has increased since 2023, now comprising 13 Domain Academies and 18 Functional Academies, with a goal of over 35 by the end of 2025. Innovative training methods like competency management systems, simulation, and virtual reality tools have also been introduced. In 2024, 90% of Thales's global workforce participated in skills development activities.
The company has strengthened
its outreach to youth, engaging over 150,000 young people in 2024 and planning
to host over 3,000 interns and apprentices in France in 2025. Gender balance
and diversity remain priorities, with women comprising 30% of new hires in
2024. Thales is also dedicated to including people with disabilities, achieving
an employment rate of nearly 7% in France. Interested candidates can learn more
