McDonald’s India enters Madurai
McDonald’s India (West and South) has launched its maiden restaurant in the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu, Madurai. This new Experience of the Future (EOTF) store is strategically located at Sakthi Velammal Street, offering the residents of Madurai their first McDonald’s experience. With this restaurant, McDonald's India now has 38 restaurants in the state of Tamil Nadu. This significant milestone marks a key moment in the organization's expansion plans as part of its Vision 2027 strategy.
The
new multi-level Madurai restaurant is equipped with self-ordering kiosks (SOK),
digital menu boards, table service, and various smart features that enhance
customer experience. The restaurant offers a comprehensive menu featuring the
McDonald’s classic burgers, an extensive Fried Chicken portfolio including the
McSpicy Fried Chicken and McSpicy Chicken Wings, along with the McCafe range of
beverages. Beyond these offerings, customers can enjoy classic favourites like
Fries and Desserts, along with the newly launched limited-time Korean Range.
The store also features a specially designed Birthday Party area where families
can host memorable celebrations.
McDonald's
India aims to consolidate its presence and further strengthen its market share
in the South Market through innovative offerings like the McSpicy Fried
Chicken. McDonald's India's chicken portfolio underscores its commitment to
adapting to regional preferences and enriching their product range in Southern
India.

Looking
ahead, Westlife Foodworld aims to reach 580 to 630 restaurants by 2027. The
company is strategically targeting the growing South market. Aligned with its
Vision 2027, Westlife has set forth plans to allocate around 60% of its new restaurants
to South India. Each establishment will feature the state-of-the-art Experience
of the Future (EOTF) concept, complete with McCafe by 2027.
McDonald's
India (W&S) operates 421 restaurants across 67 cities, with a significant
presence in the South region where it has 184 restaurants. In the fiscal year
2024-25, McDonald's India strengthened its foothold by opening 27 restaurants
in Southern India, including eight restaurants in Tamil Nadu.
This
growth underscores the organization's commitment to bringing the McDonald's
experience to more customers in diverse markets. The expansion strategy of
