Pondicherry Art Akademy Celebrates 13 Years of Artistic Excellence with 7th National Women Artists Group Show
Pondicherry Art Akademy, renowned
for its commitment to promoting artistry over the past 13 years, proudly
presents its 51st event: the 7th National Women Artists Group Show. The
inauguration took place on April 5th at 4 PM at Cholamandal Artists' Village in
Chennai, marking yet another milestone in the Academy's illustrious journey. The ceremony commenced with renowned
Contemporary Artist.Sovan Kumar, Regional Secretary of Lalit Kala Akademi,
Chennai, symbolically cutting the ribbon to officially inaugurate the event.
Shri Kaliaperumal, Director of the Art and Culture Department, Puducherry,
further elevated the occasion by illuminating the kuthu vilakku and unveiling
the catalog, with the prestigious first copy presented to the renowned Senior
Artist C. Douglas of Cholamandal Artists Village.
The exhibition features the exceptional talents of 67 women artists from various corners of India, collectively presenting 77 artworks across a spectrum of mediums. Despite hailing from diverse professional backgrounds such as surgeons, doctors, engineers, and teachers, their painting prowess stands equal to that of seasoned professionals.The inaugural function saw an impressive turnout of over 150 artists and art enthusiasts, reflecting the widespread anticipation and support for the event. The footfall for the show has been encouraging, promising an engaging and fruitful exhibition cum sale experience. Esteemed artist Aashima Mahrotra, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Railways and a participant in the show, graced the event as the chief guest, alongside distinguished guests Senior Artist Senathipathi of Cholamandal Artists Village and Senior Artist Lakshmi Krishnamoorty from Kalakshetra. Kalaimamani.Artist.K.K.Segar, President of the Academy, and Artist.G.Sridalaadevi, Founder and Secretary of the Academy, extended a warm welcome to all attendees and presided over the entire show.
