Statue Unveiling Ceremony of Madam Miss.BERNASCONI GIOVANNA
The Chief Guest Dr. P.M.Nair, IPS (Retd),
International Expert, Human Trafficking Matters opened the Unveiling Statue of
Madam Miss.BERNASCONI GIOVANNA, Social worker, Ticino, Switzerland in the
presence of A.J.Hariharan, Founder-Secretary, ICWO.
Madam Miss.Bernasconi Giovanna is an eminent social
worker who has contributed her entire life for the cause of social service. She
has rendered selfless service to the society, community with great humanity;
she is always young and energetic.
Madam Miss.Benasconi Giovanna, Social Worker, Ticino,
Switzerland had come to India from Riva San Vitale in September 1967 to
Chennai. She had completed 50 years of humanitarian service for the poor and
the destitute. She runs a clinic named St.Johns Dispensary at Vyasarpadi,
Chennai for more than 4 decades.
She extended her helping hands in each and every disaster
that struck people living in Chennai. She also supported the poor and destitute
people by providing financial assistance, medical treatment, counseling,
education fees for school and college, people in settlement areas, orphans,
homeless people shelter and for purchase of boats, fishing equipments for fishermen.
She had helped various institutions and communities in
construction of community halls, training centers with youngsters support. It's
really remarkable and wonderful to highlight that she over the past 5 decades
has transformed people living in difficulty to live in a safe comfortable life.
Madam Miss Bernasconi Giovanna
has always helped the people in the downtrodden society. Her vision thought and
process and ambition of life has been to serve people without any expectation
from anyone in the world. In simple words, she is the living dictionary for the
word of altruism and philanthropy.
