During welcome address speaking on the occasion
Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Secretary – ICWO said the concept of AHTC was developed by
Dr.P.M.Nair, IPS (Retd.) Another of the world's most populous countries, India
has a worrying number of cases of missing persons. Statistics show that 88
women, kids, and men go missing by the hour. 2,130 people go missing every day,
and 64,851 people every month in India. According to India’s National Crime
Rate Bureau (NCRB) data, the provinces of West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu,
Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan have the highest number of missing
persons.
Speaking on the occasion Dr.T.Arul Roncalli, Programme Manager – HSF India said the most important benefit of child counseling is that the children get a safe space to talk to a third person who isn't a parent, sibling or family member. They can openly talk about anything and everything which helps the counselor to understand the child and it helps the child to feel better. Allow victims to share their experiences so that we might learn about the types of support and protection services that children need. Psychological research could also address effective techniques for interviewing victims of trafficking. Childhood trauma through child counseling is crucial for improving mental, emotional, and physical health outcomes. It can lead to improved relationships, reduce the risk of developing mental health disorders, and improve overall well-being.
