Vidyodaya Schools celebrates centennial sports day

Sports are an important part of Vidyodaya Schools holistic education. On July 14, the Vidyodaya Schools Centenary Year Annual Sports Meet was presided over by Mrs. Aarti Sankaran, renowned Cricketer and Faculty Member, National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru. The children of various Alayas and Junior Houses of Vidyodaya participated in the sports events. A beautiful, colorful pageant was performed by students of various classes. The March Past, Torch Ceremony, and various events, including Parents and Old Students events, were held. Prizes, shields, medals, and certificates were distributed by Mrs. Aarti.

Mrs. Aarti Sankaran spoke and urged the children to make Sports a part of their daily lives. Professional or amateur sports would always give a sense of well-being to every person, she added. Earlier on July 10, the Vidyodaya Schools 100th Year Centenary Inter Schools Sports Meet was inaugurated by Mrs.Victoria Chandran (Retired Physical Education Teacher of Vidyodaya). Volleyball, basketball, kho kho, throw ball, and hockey were some of the matches conducted.
