Human Rights & Anti Human Trafficking Orientation by University of Madras and ICWO

An Orientation on Human Rights and Anti-Human Trafficking in Chennai, organised by University of Madras and ICWO, was held on July 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. The programme sponsored by HSF India will be held at G-33 Hall, University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai.

The welcome address will be by Dr.Vaneeta Aggarwal, NSS Coordinator, University of Madras Chepauk, Chennai. The presidential address will be rendered by Prof. S. Gowri, Honourable Vice Chancellor, University of Madras, Chepauk, Chennai. The chief guest for the function is Mr.Sayeeram S., Regional Director, NSS (National Service Scheme), Shastri Bhavan, Chennai.

The purpose of the orientation will be explained by Mr. A.J. Hariharan, Secretary, ICWO. The topic of Anti-Human Trafficking: A Global Issue and an Introduction by will be given by Dr. P.M. Nair, IPS (Retd.), International Expert, Human Trafficking Matters. An Introduction to the POCSO Act, Child rights, and prevention efforts by NGOs in Tamil Nadu will be rendered by Ms. Roseann Rajan, Advocate, Madras High Court. A Case Study presentation will be done by Ms.Praveena Solomon, State Coordinator, ICWO-HSF Project.
