Inauguration of new Haemodialysis machines donated by Cognizant Foundation

TANKER (Tamilnad Kidney Research) Foundation is a registered non-profit charitable Organization started in June 1993 with the aim of helping under-privileged patients with kidney disease by giving Subsidized Dialysis and one time financial help for medication, investigation and transplantation and spread awareness about kidney disease.

Four New Machines have been donated by Cognizant Foundation and one new machine by the Janakibai Pahalsingh Bajaj Charitable Trust. Cognizant Foundation, a great supporter of TANKER through its CSR has so far donated more than 25 dialysis machines to all the centers of TANKER Foundation. The machines were inaugurated by AKS.PDG.Rtn. SvRm.Ramanathan, Rtn. Nallamai Ramanathan Past Inner wheel Chair Rotary District 3232 , Mr P Kartikeyan, MLA ,Vellore Constituency and Mrs Sujatha Anandakumar Mayor, Vellore Corporation. ICICI Foundation donated all the cots for the unit. The Vellore dialysis centre now has 22 machines whereby 44 patients will benefit every day.

Ms. Reena Elizabeth from Cognizant Foundation, Mr.Asif Iqbal and Mr.L Krishna Prasad from ICICI Foundation , Rtn Sridar Balaraman and Rtn Selwyn from Rotary Club of Vellore Fort who spearheaded the TANKER RCVF dialysis unit in 2017 were present. Mrs Latha Kumaraswami gave an update of TANKER activities and said that almost 5.5 Lakhs dialysis had been done so far for over 2500 patients and Rs.4 crores to 4800 people for medication, investigation and surgery costs. At present 800 patients were benefitting through TANKER's 14 dialysis units. Almost 2 lakh people have been reached out to through the awareness programmes and 38000 people had been screened for kidney disease. She was grateful to the TANKER Angels on Earth (TANKER's dedicated staff), CMCHIS, GCC, Rotary, Freemasons, Corporates, individual donors and the Press for their support over the years.

These Machines were inaugurated at the Pachaiammal Shanmugam Rotafort TANKER Foundation Dialysis Unit, Rotary Club of Vellore Fort, Suraj Devi Dharmichand, Ghadiya Building, Sathuvachari, Vellore – 632009.
