A workshop on caring for creation

Biblical understanding of Eco-stewardship

The climate crisis is affecting every aspect of human life. While the poor and marginalized contribute least to the problem, they are always the hardest hit. EFICOR is a national NGO which serves the poor and the marginalised in situations of poverty, inequalities, and disaster. The organisation is also involved in Training and Capacity Building programmes to sensitise individuals, groups, and institutions to engage in community development and environmental care.

In addition to promoting community-based climate change adaptation and reduce climate risk through community projects, EFICOR engages and educates organisations, groups, and individuals to elicit behaviour change and equip people with knowledge and methods to care for the environment.

EFICOR in partnership with the Emmanuel Methodist Church, Chennai conducted a workshop on caring for creation on 15th and 16th March 2023, exploring questions such as why we should care for the environment, what are the current environmental issues, and what is our role in caring for the environment. A total of 36 participants from various organizations in and around Chennai attended the two-day workshop. The participants engaged in several discussions and came up with action plans to take initiatives in their own locality.
