New dialysis unit inaugurated at Urban Primary Health Centre in Vyasarpadi

Greater Chennai Corporation, Rotary Club of Madras East in association with Rotary Club of Adana Guney and TANKER Foundation opened a new dialysis unit on Friday 20th January 2023 at the "Urban Primary Health Centre, Vyasarpadi, Chennai”. This is a joint effort of  Greater Chennai Corporation, Rotary Club of Madras East and TANKER Foundation. This is TANKER Foundation's 14th Dialysis Centre and 8th with the Greater Chennai Corporation. 

The Unit was inaugurated by Thiru.  K. N. Nehru, Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban and Water Supply, Tamilnadu. who said that this would benefit the people of Vyasarpadi greatly as dialysis will be totally free. He promised to help with enhancing the reimbursement package. He thanked all those who worked towards this project. 

Ms. Priya Rajan, Hon’ble Mayor of Chennai, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, I A S, Commissioner, Greater Chennai Corporation, CHO Dr Jagadeesan,MP DR Kalanidhi, Rtn. T V Rama Kumar, President, Rtn Prabhuram, Secretary, Rtn Sujatha, Rtn. Sudarsan. R, RCME  and Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, Managing Trustee of TANKER Foundation also participated.  

Mrs. Latha Kumaraswami ,Managing Trustee TANKER Foundation  said that TANKER had done over 5.31 lakh dialysis so far and given donations of over Rs.3.5 crore as donations. This unit would be the 8th Dialysis centre with the Greater Chennai Corporation. TANKER has also helped set up dialysis centres in Imphal Manipur, Kerala, MGM Pondicherry, Tanzania and Vennikulam Kerala and Port Blair, Andamans. She thanked all TANKER staff and all frontline workers for their selfless service especially during the pandemic.
