NGO meet on impact of disaster on sexual and reproductive health of people

Family Planning Association of India, Chennai Branch organised a NGO Meet on 19.11.2022 at YWCA Madras, Egmore to discuss about the impact of disaster on sexual and reproductive health of people and the roles of NGOs to help the affected people during such disasters. YWCA, ICWO, Positive Women Network and Ashraya NGOs actively participated in the meet.


The NGO meet was presided over by Ms. Leelavathy, Chairperson of Family Planning Association Of India. Mr. Padmanaabhan, the Finance Advisor of the Association Welcome the Gathering and Ms. Vithya Padmini, the Executive General Secretary of YWCA Madras inaugurated the Meet.

Ms Padmaselvi Branch Manager of FPAI explained through Power Point presentation, the various components of Sexual and Reproductive Health and the effects of disaster on SRH. She also explained how NGOs could help the affected population in emergencies.


There after Mr. Karnan, programme Manager, Red cross society, Chennai spoke about the disasters that caused havoc in Tamil Nadu and the efforts of Red  Cross Society to save people from such disasters. The meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Munavar Basha consultant of FPAI.
