Anti-Human Trafficking Club launched

As part of ICWO/HSF India inaugurated the Anti Human Trafficking club (AHTC) on 30th Sep 2022 at Michael Faraday Hall in Gnanamani College of Technology, Namakkal. Tmt.P.Malaleena, Chairperson, Gnanamani Educational Institutions ignited the holly lamp. Ms.D.Hosanna Christy, IV Year CSE, Gnanamani College of Technology delivered the welcome address.

During the inauguration Dr.T.Arangannal, Chairman, Gnanamani Educational Institutions, emphasize the importance of awareness among the young people, not only to protect themselves but also educate friends and general public. Since the information technology is blooming, at the same time people use the technology to abuse vulnerable people. Our college is proud to be the part of initiative and committed to create awareness among the students and the general public in Namakkal District.

Dr.P. Premkumar, CAO, Gnanamani College of Technology speaking on the occasion, He insisted the awareness of AHTC issues and we are the future of our nation. This club will create awareness among our students and the students from other colleges as well.

Dr.T.K.Kannan, Principal, Gnanamani College of Technology said how AHT Club is functioning effectively among the students and the public. Dr.B.Sanjay Gandhi, Academic Director, Gnanamani College of Technology, Highlighted the importance of AHT Club.Dr.K.Chandramohan and Dr.R.Gandhi, Vice Principals of Gnanamani College of technology, encouraged the AHT Club.

Mr.A.J.Hariharan, Secretary ICWO said that, we have inaugurated 94 AHT Club in31 districts, Tamilandu. Our aim is to reach 100 at earliest to build partnership with various stack holders effectively to stop forced labour, illegal organ transplant and sexual harassment of women through AHT Club and children and address these issues by creating high level of awareness in Tamilnadu.

 

Speaking on the occasion Mr.B.U.Maheswaran, Regional Consultant – ICWO/HSF Project emphasizes the importance of young people getting involved in creating awareness to save vulnerable people. We appreciate Gnanamani College of Technology and the great institution for their great effort to invite AHTC Club in their highly reputed institution.

Ms.Poongothai, Director, Kodai Foundation Namakkal delivered the vote of thanks. The management and the AHT Club congratulated the program coordinators.

ICWO/ HSF India have planned to initiate 100 Anti human trafficking club (AHTC) in Tamilnadu to spot Human Trafficking Club to address the issues of women and children today. Around 500 students actively participated in AHTC from Gnanamani College of Technology and Gnanamani Integrated B.Ed College.
