75th Independence Day Celebration at Perambur Jaganathan Colony Residents Association

Members of the Anglo-Indian Suburban Front,Chennai joined in the 75th Independence Day Celebrations conducted by Jaganathan Colony Residents Association, Perambur on 15th August 2022 .The meeting started with a prayer by the Association Secretary-Mrs.Petula Pinheiro and speaking on the occasion, the AISF Founder& President Dr.Roy Rozario welcomed and thanked the office bearers of the Jaganathan Colony Residents Association, especially Mr.Somasundaram (President), Mr. Christopher Charles Samuel(Vice-President), Mr Philip Connors (Secretary)and Mr.Shibu (Treasurer)  and the Members for having invited his Association Members to join in the celebrations and interact with the Anglo-Indians of the Colony.

Dr.Roy Rozario praised the several schemes launched by Prime Minister -Mr.Narendra Modi and recalled the prominent role played by the micro-scope 4 Lakhs Anglo-Indian Community in Nation Building over the last 75 years in various fields especially in the Defence-Air Chief Marshall Denzil La Fontain; Air Marshall Doughlas Kin Lee, recipient of Ati Vishist and Param Vishist Seva Medal; Air Vice -Marshall &War Hero Denzil Keelor and Admiral Ron Pereira, Chief of the Indian Navy(1979-82).

Also, he requested the Centre to take into account the September'2013-Socio-economic Study and the Fact Finding Report of the Union Minority Ministry, New Delhi which listed the various challenges faced by the Anglo-Indian Community in various States of India and besides apply the same yardstick as done in the case of Extending the Special Reservation of Seats for SC&ST Communities under Article 334(a) and extend the Anglo-Indian Nominations for a further period of 10 years till 26th January 2030.
