Saveetha College of Nursing celebrated Pearl Jubilee


Saveetha College of Nursing celebrated Pearl Jubilee to mark the historical milestone in its journey &wrapped up 30 years. The college has been renovated with the theme of “Walk in the Park” into state of Art infrastructure setting an example for Nursing Education Globally as well to prepare for the emerging challenge in the upcoming health care and emphasis on high quality education. The renovated building of SCON was inaugurated by Dr.Ani Grace Kalaimathi, Registrar, Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council by Ribbon cutting. 


This occasion was graced with Dr.N.M Veeraiyan, Chancellor, SIMATS, Dr.Chadaram Sivaji, Vice Chancellor, Dr. V. Deepak Nallaswamy, Director of Academics, SIMATS, invited guest, the Principal Prof.Dr.S. KalaBarathi, Prof.L.Parimala, Vice Principal, Faculty members and students of Saveetha College of Nursing.

CME on Kidney Health for All

The key takeaways for people at the CME programme held Sunday November 26, 2023, with the theme ‘Kidney Health for All’ were exercise and diet, awareness, screening and timely check-ups to prevent chronic kidney disease (CKD).   Participating as the Chief Guest, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, IAS, laid stress on the fact that kidney disease was increasing and there was a need for addressing the issue. He drew attention to the fact that the Tamil Nadu government scheme, ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’, (Taking Healthcare to People), checked 1 crore people for sugar and BP and the number of new cases was alarming. These are the two major reasons for kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension and so he advised eating the right kind of food, doing regular exercise and creating awareness and screening. First DPL match was won by US Consulate Staff Team

  ICWO - Indian Community Welfare Organisation  organized the First DPL- Diplomat Cricket Tournament for Embassy, Consulate & High Commission Staff on 10 th   August 2024 at Soka Ikeda College of Arts and Science for Women, Sethu Bhaskara Nagar, Madhanangkuppam, Kolathur, Chennai. T he event aims to create high level Awareness to STOP Child Abuse, Child Trafficking, Child Marriage & Child Labour in Tamilnadu and mobilize funds for intervention to address the same. A.J.Hariharan, Secretary – ICWO thanked both the US Consulate and Malaysian Consulate for their support and participation in the diplomate cricket tournament as to create an awareness about the Child Marriage, Child Trafficking & Child Labour and Child Abuse in Tamilnadu.
