Promoting Tourism and Responsible Travel through eco-friendly practices
Hon’ble Mr.K. Ramachandran, Minister for Forests, TamilNadu inaugurated the project “Responsible Travel” at Chennai on 08.11.2021 in the presence of Mr.Krishnakumar Kaushal,IFS Additional PCCF, Mr. Vigyat, EGF, Mr. Alex, Manager – CSR Programs, Royal Enfield and Mr. Shanmugam, Ex. M.L.A.
Mr.A.S.Sankaranarayanan,
Managing Trustee, NMCT, informed that the Project “Responsible Travel” funded
by Royal Enfield and implemented by NMCT, with the objective of promoting
Tourism and Responsible Travel, through eco – friendly practices, improved
facilities, improved facilities and strengthening community / institutional
engagements, in Coimbatore and Nilgiris Districts, covering Anamalai and
Mudumalai Tiger Reserve Forest and Coimbatore Forest Division areas.
Mr.
Krishnakumar Kaushal IFS, Additional PCCF participated physically and
felicitated the inaugural ceremony. Mr. Venkatesh IFS, Field Director Mudumalai
Tiger Reserve, Mr. Ganesan IFS, Deputy Director, Anamalai Tiger Reserve,
Mr.Arunkumar IFS, Deputy Director, Gudalur division, Mr.Bhosale Sachin Tukaram,
DFO, Ooty Division and Mr. Dinesh ACF Coimbatore division participated
virtually and contributed their inputs.
Mr.
Alex Vijay, Manger, CSR Project, EGF informed that Project will be implemented
enrooting Ooty to Masinagudi Via Kallati, Gudalur to Bandipur Via Theppakkadu,
Pollachi to Top Slip, Pollachi to Malakkaparai via Valparai and Coimbatore to
Ooty highways.
Hon’ble
Mr.K. Ramachandran,Minister for Forests, TamilNadu inaugurated the new project
“Responsible Travel” and appreciated the initiation of NMCT in promoting Health
& Sanitation activities, providing food & medical equipments during
Corona pandemic. He has also appealed all to support the underprivileged and
promote the forestry to 33% in Tamil Nadu.
Mr.
Vigyat, EGF, thanked NMCT for supporting the CSR activities of EGF and Royal
Enfield. Mr. Shanmugam, Ex. MLA, appreciated NMCT, for its active involvement
in providing Medical Equipments, to Government Hospitals and Primary Health
Centers during the Corona Pandemic. The project will improve the environment in
the Reserve Forest areas and livelihood of the poor. The project implement the activities such as
Installation of Plastic Crushing Machines, convex glass mirors, Solar panels
for lighting and charging in Anti Poaching watch towers.
