upGrad to upskill 1,00,000 women in Data & Technology Roles

upGrad for Business, the B2B arm of South Asia’s largest higher edtech upGrad, is in talks with corporates to train over 100,000 women in Data Science, Technology and Management roles as part of their WISDOM (Women in Science, Data, Organisational behaviour & Management) initiative. This will enable organisations to enhance gender diversity in these fields which are typically seen as male dominated.

“We have 23.3% women in the workplace today as compared to 42.7% two decades ago. This is alarming in the context of the Indian corporate ecosystem. As part of our ‘WISDOM’ initiative, we aim to bring holistic learning for our women colleagues, by melding our Data and Soft Skills expertise. Our vision is to empower women professionals to not only thrive but also drive success for their organisations.” said Minaxi Indra, President - upGrad for Business, who is a woman leader in Tech herself.

upGrad for Business has curated three buckets of women-centric programs with a focus on Young Professionals, Middle Management and Business Heads. These programs will be an excellent addition to their bestselling Data, Tech, Management and Behavioural programs.

upGrad alumna Supriya Raman, who’s been ranked as one of the top 10 women data scientists in India in 2021, by Analytics Insight said, “What I learned at upGrad helped me go through all the interviews and hackathon rounds smoothly. I secured a role as a Data Scientist in Levi Strausses and Co. with a salary hike of 120%.

The case studies/assignments I did during the course, acts as a good code repository base & quick references for the day-to-day project work. I went through a huge learning curve, and I give all credit to upGrad to help me with the most systematic learning experience.”
