Inaugurated a new dialysis unit at Urban Community Health Center, Tiruvottiyur

Rotary Club of Chennai Aadithya and Rotary Club of Madras West and TANKER Foundation inaugurated a new dialysis unit on Monday 28th June 2021 at " Urban Community Health Center, Tiruvottiyur Chennai”. This is a joint effort of  Rotary Club of Madras Central Aadithya and Rotary Club of Madras West and Rotary International which raised over Rs.80 lakhs for this project. Greater Chennai Corporation has given free space, water and electricity. TANKER Foundation will be running and managing the unit. This is TANKER Foundation's 12th Dialysis Centre and 6th with the Greater Chennai Corporation.

The Unit was inaugurated by Thiru. Ma. Subramanian BA.,LL.B, Honourable Minister for Medical and Family Welfare, Tamil Nadu who said that this would benefit the people of Thiruvottritur greatly as dialysis will be totally free. Rtn. S. Muthu Palaniappan District Governor RI District 3232, Dr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy Member of Parliament, Thiru K. P. Shankar MLA- Thiruvottiyur, Thiru. S. Sudharsanam MLA- Madhavaram, Dist Secretary, Chennai North East spoke at the function. 

Mrs.Latha Kumaraswami ,Managing Trustee TANKER Foundation gave an update about TANKER Foundation saying that TANKER had done over 4 lakh dialysis so far and given donations of over Rs.3 crore as donations. This unit would be the 6th Dialysis centre with the Greater Chennai Corporation. TANKER has also helped set up dialysis centres in Imphal Manipur, Kerala, MGM Pondicherry, Tanzania and Vennikulam Kerala and Port Blair, Andamans. She thanked all TANKER staff and all frontline workers for their selfless service especially during the pandemic.
