A Great Opportunity participating in NATIONAL WOMEN ARTISTS’ CAMP 2021


Artist. G.Sridalaadevi is a National reputed artist who was born and bought up in Pondicherry and currently settled in Chennai ,Tamil Nadu. She is the founder of Pondicherry Art Akademy which is being a platform for many Indian Artists and School students to establish their painting talent.

 Recently she got selected to be part of seven days National Women Artists’ Painting Camp at Kanyakumari to mark the International Women’s Day and 75 years of  Indian Independence organized by South Zone Cultural Centre, Thanjavur in association with Lalit Kala Akademi, Chennai. Totally 39 Women artists were selected to be part of this Camp. 

The concept given to the artists on this camp was “Andaman Jail and Biography of great freedom fighter Veer Savarkar”. Sridalaadevi has done two paintings in 40 x30 inches size. She had used Acrylic as medium to create the painting.

The 1st painting depicts how veer was imprisoned and tortured in a cellular jail by the British to make him stop taking against them. But though he didn’t stop writing about the need the freedom. His writings spread throughout the country which created patriotism in many youngsters mind. 


The second painting explains how we can attain our goal by following Swami Vivekananda. These paintings of the eminent artists are going to be permanently displayed in Andaman Jail.

“ It is a great opportunity to all the participated artists to create paintings. This camp made me to learn about Veer Savarkar and I am very happy that I created work about them. Interactions with all the participants gave us great experience. Camps like this for Women artists have to be done every year so that it will help many artists to bring them back in track.” added artist. G.Sridalaadevi who has participated in 33 group shows and 2 solo shows.
